Swirl Cup 2
A swirl cup fired on its side, with small shell impressions
4” tall, 3.25” at widest part of the oval mouth
Holds 12 oz
Food and drink safe
Please note that because this piece was fired on its side and the kiln was so hot, the gravity pulled down the rim to be a bit oval-shaped.
_
This piece is part of my first-ever wood-fired collection.
The wood-firing produces completely unique and one-of-a-kind pottery with surfaces that come to life through a reduction atmosphere, the effects of flying ash, and the path of the fire.
These special pieces were fired at the Oki Doki Studio train kiln in April 2026 under artist Sophie Yoon’s guidance. Read my blog about the experience to get into the details of what is different about wood-firing and what makes it so special.
